✔ Practical Aspects of the Research

* Application for the promotion of the results of the research through academic conferences

The conference constitutes a space where the results of a research can be applied in an effective way. The current project aims at organizing one international conference in Macedonia during the first year of the research period, and another – in Korea, during the second year. The focus of the research in the first year is the basic work of establishing a strategy for promoting understanding and intercultural communication, based on the materials collected in both countries. At the conferences during the second year of the research period, based on the research from the first year, the focus is on spread and development of Korean studies in Macedonia. Papers on intercultural communication and effective ways of presenting Korean studies were presented. In order to increase the promotion effect of the conference in Macedonia, it was held together with the annual international conference in Ohrid, organized by the Macedonian university. At the conference in Korea, during the second year of the project the intention is to increase the scope of the international participation by scholars from the Balkan region – from Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece experts in Korea.

* Application for the promotion of the results of the research trough media reports and publication

During the first year of the research project it is expected to uncover many interesting and forgotten records. These records were released to the media and the broadcasting corporations. In order to spread more widely, we prepared to publish the periods and monographs instead of journals. By this way, the research materials will not be released at once, but in series.

* Application for setting up a strategy for advance to Macedonia and the Balkan region

Macedonia and the Balkan region, to which it belongs, have rich history. At present, because of their geopolitical significance they attract the interest of the United States, China and the European Union in a competitive way. Even though, the physical distance between this region and Korea is significant, the advance of Korea towards it is very urgent and important matter because of the region’s potential and its future role as a bridgehead to Western Europe. For the right execution of this objective and for drafting suitable policies, a fundamental sociological research, as this one, is necessary. And also, inversely, the results of this kind of research can become the most important basis for setting up a strategy for the advance to this region.
